FEMA


People affected by Hurricane Harvey and the subsequent storms in the Houston area can apply for federal assistance, the Federal Emergency Management Agency has announced.

FEMA needs volunteers: National Voluntary Organizations Active In Disaster NVOAD.org or 1-800-621-3362 (This is FEMA's number)   

To apply for FEMA assistance: disasterassistance.gov or 1-800-621-3362 

 

Phone number is active 7am to 10pm local time 7 days a week 

 

Over 450,000 are expected to register as disaster victims

According to a statement from FEMA, applicants could possibly receive rental payments for temporary housing, unemployment payments, loans to cover residential losses not covered by insurance, and grants for home repairs and replacement of personal property, as well as other disaster-related needs.

Applicants may apply for help from FEMA by registering on the website DisasterAssistance.gov. If you do not have internet access you can call (800) 621-FEMA (3362).
