The entertainment world was thrown into a frenzy last week when DJ Khaled proposed to Nicki Minaj during an interview with MTV news, but now Minaj is setting the record straight on what really went down.
Khaled, with a 10-karat ring, asked Nicki on live telvision last week, “Nicki Minaj, I’m at MTV. I love you. I like you. I want you. I want you to be mine. I’m here at MTV because it’s a worldwide network. Only reason I’m not telling you this face to face is because I understand that you’re busy. Ima be honest with you, I wanna marry you,” Khaled announced, adding, “Nicki Minaj, will you marry me? We got the same symptoms, we both suffer from success. You out there touring, you’re out there hustling, you’re out there making music and you’re out there winning. And I understand.”
But during an interview with New York’s Hot 97 radio show, Minaj reveals that last week’s proposal was just a big joke.
“I was shocked just like the rest of the world and I was cracking up laughing with the rest of the world, ’cause DJ Khaled is a master at what he does,” Minaj shared, adding, “Nobody in my real life took it seriously. Everybody just hit me like, ‘LOL. Yo, Khaled. Khaled is my brother and Khaled was not serious with that d*mn proposal, y’all. Please let it go. He was kidding … He’s not attracted to me, he doesn’t like me. We’re brother and sister. He’s a big cuddly bear.”
