Mother abandons daughter after being caught shoplifting
mother accused of using her 10-year-old daughter to shoplift groceries in Northern California and then abandoning the child when store employees intervened has been arrested in Nevada, according to police.
Marcy Keelin, 38, was taken into custody Friday night at a motel near Fernley, Nev., about 300 miles away from the Morgan Hill, Calif., store where police say she left her daughter more than a week ago, Morgan Hill police Sgt. Troy Hoefling said.
