ROLLING STONES

The Rolling Stones have just released the latest in their critically acclaimed digital only official bootleg series, choosing their legendary "1975 Tour Of The Americas," with the digitally remastered collection, L.A. Friday (Live, 1975). The set, available for only $4.99 through Google Play, features the band's entire July 11th, 1975 performance at the Los Angeles Forum. The show, which was recorded in the middle night of a five-night L.A. stand, marked the Stones' first tour with Ron Wood on lead guitar. Both Wood and the band made a concerted effort at the time to state that Wood was only "on loan" from the Faces, whom he toured with later that year, but just about everybody knew once he hit the stage, that "Woody" was the seventh and latest Rolling Stone. Billy Preston, who was the band's keyboardist for the tour, takes the mic for two of his '70s hits "That's Life" and "Outta Space."

Out now is Under Their Thumb -- How A Nice Boy From Brooklyn Got Mixed Up With The Rolling Stones And Lived To Tell About It, by rock writer Bill German. German, who's best known in music circles as being the editor of the legendary Stones fanzine Beggars Banquet, recalls his first impressions of Ron Wood as a member of the Stones: "At first I had no idea, like, why is this guy coming over from the Faces? It was like, where's Mick Taylor going (laughs), y'know? I remember -- I think I read it in (Rolling Stone's) Random Notes first, like in 1974 -- the end of '74: 'Mick Taylor Is Leaving The Stones.' But I kept an open mind, y'know? And the first thing I heard was that he played on the back of a truck on Fifth Avenue. And it was just one song but it sounded good -- I guess I was caught up in the excitement of another Stones tour. Y'know, I read that it was working out, so I was more than happy to welcome this guy once I started to get to know who he was."

The tracklisting to the Rolling Stones' L.A. Friday (Live, 1975) is: "Honky Tonk Women," "All Down The Line," "If You Can't Rock Me," "Get Off My Cloud," "Star Star," "Gimme Shelter," "Ain't Too Proud To Beg," "You Gotta Move," You Can't Always Get What You Want," "Happy," "Tumbling Dice," Band Introductions, "It's Only Rock n' Roll," "Heartbreaker," "Fingerprint File," "Angie," "Wild Horses," "That's Life" and "Outta-Space" (Billy Preston), "Brown Sugar," "Midnight Rambler," "Rip This Joint," "Street Fighting Man," "Jumpin' Jack Flash," and "Sympathy For The Devil."

GUNS N' ROSES

Just to add another wrinkle to the ongoing drama over Guns N' Roses and their induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on April 14th -- less than two weeks from now -- Use Your Illusion-era drummer Matt Sorum has told VH1 that founding guitarist Izzy Stradlin will not be attending the ceremony. Sorum said, "(Slash) spoke to Izzy and Izzy wasn't planning on coming. So I think that was like, if Izzy's not going to come and it's not all the original guys, then it doesn't make sense."

Slash, who recently confirmed that the original band would not be playing, told Rolling Stone on Monday that he's "dead sick" of talking about the induction, adding, "I feel you're totally obligated to be present and I would love to play, but it's just something that's not gonna happen for whatever reason."

It's been widely documented that singer Axl Rose's hostility toward Slash is the major stumbling block for any reunion, with Slash saying, "He hates my guts. It's over a lot of different stuff; I don't even know. There's just no communication between us. I talk to Duff (McKagan, bassist) and Steven, but when it comes to old Guns N' Roses, there really isn't anybody that makes decisions."

Slash will release his second solo album, Apocalyptic Love, on May 22nd, with a North American tour booked.

Also going into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on the 14th are the Beastie Boys, the Red Hot Chili Peppers, the Faces/Small Faces, Donovan and Laura Nyro.

BILLY JOEL

Newly released as a CD exclusive to Starbucks shops is Billy Joel: Opus Collection. The disc, which features 16 of Billy's greatest hits and album favorites, includes such timeless tracks as "My Life," "Piano Man," "Just The Way You Are," "Movin' Out (Anthony's Song)," and "You May Be Right." Also included are deep album cuts such as "Travelin' Prayer," "Vienna," "Summer, Highland Falls," "The Downeaster 'Alexa'," and "Scenes From An Italian Restaurant," among others.

Billy explained how he feels having yet another repackaging of his older material on the streets: "They send it to me and I say, 'Ah, here we go -- another greatest hits compilation. They're entitled to (release it). Part of the deal."

One of the highlights on the Opus Collection is Billy's 1977 classic, "She's Always A Woman," which he feels is a love song -- but with a message: "I was being managed by a woman, my wife, and she was taking a lot of flack. When a guy was being successful in business, he was ballsy, he was aggressive, he was, y'know, a tough businessman and a tough negotiator. If a woman was doing that at the time she was a bitch, she was castrating, she was accused of all kind of things. And what I wanted to say with that song was you can call her whatever you want, but she's a woman to me. . . she's always a woman to me. Y'know, just because she's doing well in your particular line of work doesn't make her any less feminine to me."

TREND ALERT: DIVORCE RINGS

Divorced women are now keeping a ring on "that" finger -- but this time to show that they've split. French jewelry designer Gisele Ganne has created a ring that women can buy for themselves at the end of their marriage and wear it on their wedding finger as a defiant 'I don't!' However the jewelry won't rival the beauty of diamonds. Gisele's rings (which cost around $1,000) feature 'subverted' wedding symbols, namely gold bird skulls decorated with a bride's bouquet and pink gems. There's even a divorce knuckle-duster for those who are going through a really bad divorce. (Daily Mail)

WOMEN MORE LIKELY TO WEAR BEER GOGGLES THAN MEN

It turns out that women are more likely to be fooled by 'beer goggles' than men. Researchers at London's Roehampton University asked more than 100 men and women to rate pairs of faces. Some did the tests while drinking a strong vodka and tonic. Others were given a similar-tasting non-alcoholic drink. The men and women given the vodka and tonic found it more difficult to work out if a face was symmetrical (associated with attractiveness) than those on soft drinks. Researcher Lewis Halsey said: 'People that had drink tended to be less good at noticing if a face was asymmetrical, they often saw it as being symmetrical when it was asymmetrical.' (Telegraph)

GOOD CONNECTIONS DOESN'T HAVE LONGTERM IMPACT ON CAREER

Having 'good connections' does change your likelihood of getting a job, but it apparently has no impact on your long-term future. A study found that the speed of your 'rise through the ranks' is dictated largely by your own intelligence. The study, of 2,868 Americans from 1979 through 2004, monitored earnings and promotions over the course of 25 years. Taking into account each participant's rate of advancement throughout the career arc, the data confirmed that while both intelligence and SEB impacted entry-level wages, only intelligence had an influence on the pace of pay increases throughout the years. INSTAGRAM IS BIGGEST FACEBOOK PHOTO PET PEEVE

Photo apps such as Instagram are now the worst annoyance on Facebook -- beating other people's baby photos into second place. One fifth of Facebook users have actually deleted friends on the social network because of annoying photos. A poll of 1671 Facebook users found that the apps, which add effects such as retro-styled film to digital photos were the worst picture annoyance on Facebook. Users said that the main reason they hated apps such as Instagram was the 'unnecessary photographic effects'.

7 SIGNS YOU'RE GOOD IN BED

It's something every girl has wondered: am I good in bed? Sure, like kissing, much of it may have to do with compatibility—what might be hot for one guy could be just plain freaky to the next. But no matter what your guy's preferences are, here are the 7 signs to know that you're rocking his socks off:

1. He clenches his hands and feet. A physical sign that a guy is in complete ecstasy is if he's clenching his hands and feet. When you see your guy doing this, take it as a sign he's holding on for dear life, making sure that the encounter doesn't end prematurely. After all, what you're doing to him at the time might be just a little too good.

2. He wants to do it again right away. When you've really blown his mind, he won't be able to get enough. Just thinking about the sex you had will be so arousing that he'll want to do it again. So, if he seems particularly virile, pat yourself on the back sister...you're doing something right.

3. He remains really flirty afterwards. Another sign that he can't stop thinking about the sex you've had is if he stays heavily flirty afterwards. Many guys say that after an amazing time, they'll send multiple saucy texts to their girl to show her how into her they are. And with the extra flirt, they're building up anticipation for next time.

4. He's very touchy feeling through out the day. A guy who is into you will probably be touch feely (unless he's really shy or completely opposed to PDA of course). A sign you're having great sex is if he becomes even more touchy feely. Quite literally, he's so aroused, he's having a hard time keeping his hands to himself. While flirty texts may be his verbal reminder of how much he wants you, his constant touches are his physical reminder.

5. He tells you it was awesome. This one is pretty obvious, but if a guy tells you you were amazing, he thinks you were amazing. He's not saying it to be polite, he's saying it to tell you to keep doing whatever you're doing. Don't brush off his compliments, take them to heart...you sex kitten!

6. It was great for you. As the saying goes, "it takes two to tango." If the sex felt awkward or uncomfortable to you, it probably felt that way to him too. If you thought it was hot and passionate, then guess what, he did too. Perhaps the easiest gauge of how good the sex is for him is how good the sex is for you.

7. He's trying new moves. Most men are pretty competitive by nature. When the things you do are blowing him out of the water, he's going to feel the need to put up a more impressive showing. If he starts pulling out moves you haven't seen him do before, take it as a sign that he wants to please you as much as you're pleasing him and is pulling out all the stops. And if his new moves aren't pleasing you, do let him know. With good communication and guidance from you, he too can become a rock star in the bedroom.
