The ten most overused Linkedin profile buzzwords of 2012. Friends with benefits may be more likely to have safer sex. Seven Christmas tree safety tips. How to choose a gift for a man.

STEVIE NICKS

Stevie Nicks says that she purposely held out signing on for a Fleetwood Mac tour until the time was right. It's been no secret that since the wrap of the band's 2009 trek that drummer Mick Fleetwood has been itching to get back on the road every year since. With both Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham currently riding high on solo projects, things eventually got tense between Fleetwood and Nicks over what he felt was her delay in order to serve her solo career.

Stevie Nicks said that letting fans miss a high profile act is crucial to building excitement for any major tour: "Y'know, you didn't just see us a year-and-a-half ago. So that when there's a lot of famous bands around and a lot of people out )on tour), you're gonna make a choice which ticket you're gonna buy. And if one of the bands you've not seen in three years, than that's going to be the top of the list. I think a big band like Fleetwood Mac needs to get out of the spotlight, and so, that's what we've done. And even if I hadn't released In Your Dreams in 2011, I would've still said we shouldn't go out until 2013."

Buckingham tells Rolling Stone that it was "fair enough" for Nicks to want to wait but that it did come as a surprise, as the band had already planned on touring last year. He explains, "There's no judgment on putting the tour off for a year, but it was a surprise to everyone. We had planned on it for a while, and she had planned on it. But things change, and that's a part of Fleetwood Mac. We're a moving target. We're a group of people who, you could make the argument, don't belong in the same band together. It's the synergy of that that makes it work."

KEITH RICHARDS/MICK JAGGER

Keith Richards says his sometimes turbulent relationship with Mick Jagger is probably what it feels like to have a brother. He tells Esquire magazine, "You've got two very volatile guys who've been through a whole lot of stuff in their life and still somehow manage. Sometimes I despise the man, others, I love that man so much. It's like your brother. I never had one, so he's my brother. That's the way it is, bless his heart."

Meanwhile Jagger says their relationship is nothing like that of an old married couple, despite what some say. He explains, "People say the stupidest things and that's one of the dumbest because it's completely different from being married when you work with someone. I work with Keith and I've known him for a long time."

NOT FADE AWAY

Tracks from the Rolling Stones and Bob Dylan lead the soundtrack of Not Fade Away, an upcoming film set in the 1960s about a young rock band from New Jersey trying to make it big. The movie is written and directed by David Chase, best known for creating the now-classic HBO series The Sopranos. The soundtrack has been compiled by the film's executive music producer, Steven Van Zandt of the E Street Band, who also performs several songs on the soundtrack with fellow E Streeters Max Weinberg and Gary Tallent under the name The Twylight Zones.

Van Zandt, who played Silvio Dante for Chase on The Sopranos, said in a statement, "Helping David realize his vision was one of the most satisfying projects of my life. Watching these young actors meet every challenge we threw at them was also quite inspiring."

Two of the film's young stars, John Magaro and Jack Huston, performed the fictional band's songs themselves in the movie and on the soundtrack.

Other artists featured on the soundtrack include Bo Diddley, the Sex Pistols, James Brown, the Rascals, Van Morrison, Robert Johnson, Elmore James and more.

The soundtrack will be released digitally via iTunes and all other online stores on December 18th, with the movie arriving in theaters on December 21st.

    MTV

The surviving members of the original five VJ's on MTV will release their new memoir VJ: The Unplugged Adventures of MTV's First Wave on May 7. The four have signed two limited edition advance paperback proofs of the book which will be auctioned off over the next two weeks.

The proceeds from the first auction will go to Best Friends Animal Society who have been instrumental in the relief efforts for victims of Hurricane Sandy. The society has been distributing food and supplies to a wide area surrounding the hardest hit areas in New Jersey. Best Friends has also been transporting animals affected by the storm to shelters ready to take them and get them into new homes.

The second auction will benefit New York Cares, New York City's largest volunteer organization. It meets pressing community needs by mobilizing volunteer service year round.

Nina Blackwood, Mark Goodman, Martha Quinn and Alan Hunter make up the original five.

The fifth of the VJ's, J.J. Jackson, passed away in 2004.

      PIZZA HUT DEBUTS LIMITED-EDITION PERFUME

Do you love pizza so much that you'd be happy to go about your day enveloped by the smell of a good pie? Well, Pizza Hut is helping some people do that, debuting a new perfume that's designed to smell like freshly-baked pizza dough with a little bit of spice mixed in. The pizza perfume idea actually started as a joke on Pizza Hut's Facebook page, but the company decided to go ahead and actually create it after enough people signed up as fans. Unfortunately for anyone eager to get their own bottle, the limited-edition run is already gone, and Pizza Hut doesn't have any plans to mass market the untitled scent.

      AMERICANS DON'T WALK MUCH

A new study in the American Journal of Prevention Medicine finds that less than one-quarter of American adults walk, bike, or engage in other modes of active transport, for more than ten-minutes continuously in a typical week. Researchers say people who engage in active transport have lower body mass indexes and lower risk of hypertension than those who do not. Lead researchers Dr. Gregg Furie, of the Yale School of Medicine says the health benefits of active transport are a compelling argument for government policies and infrastructure that enable walking and biking. "FRIENDS WITH BENEFITS" MAY BE MORE LIKELY TO HAVE SAFER SEX

New research from Harvard University shows couples in casual relationships were more likely to use a condom than those in traditional relationships. To find this, researchers sampled a group of about 380-people, mostly in their mid-twenties and had them complete online surveys about their relationships. The "friends-with-benefits" group was also found to be more likely to have multiple partners, and they reported less sexual satisfaction than the traditional-relationship group. SEVEN CHRISTMAS TREE SAFETY TIPS(The Stir):

      1) Water daily -- This should be a no-brainer, but make sure to check the tree's water supply daily and always replenish it when it starts getting low. (They're thirsty little suckers.)

      2) Extinguish any candles that may be lit on or around the tree.

      3) Make sure all lights bear the UL mark of safety before stringing them around your tree.

      4) Always unplug lights when you are sleeping or away from home. (Or put them on a timer so they don't stay on 24 hours a day.)

      5) Saw off the base of the tree before putting it in the stand so it will better absorb water.

      6) Add an aspirin tablet or a few pinches of sugar to the water -- it's an old wives' tale, but some say this helps the tree last longer.

      7) Always keep trees away from baseboards and heaters; otherwise they'll dry up.

HOW TO CHOOSE A GIFT FOR A MAN(Yahoo):

      • Upgrade. A lot of guys don't like to splurge on themselves. Treat him to a luxe version of something he wears all the time, like a hand-crafted Billykirk belt or a cashmere beanie from Steven Alan. Whenever he puts on his impossibly soft hat, he'll think of you, and that's never a bad thing.
      • Choose an experience. Your man likes Scotch? Take him to a Scotch-tasting session. He yells himself hoarse watching his team on TV? Get him two tickets to a game-the good seats. And here's the key part: Go with him. He will appreciate that you're taking part in the things he loves.
      • Dig deep. Yes, men can tell when a gift came from a halfhearted browse through the mall. Instead, go for a deep dive at the nearest flea market. While there will be some junky stuff in the mix, there will be more things with great patina that remind you of your guy than you could ever fit in the car home.Think vintage sports equipment, belt buckles, desk clocks, old college pennants, weird found photos and Polardoids, incredible old trunks and briefcases, and strange postcards from places that mean something to you. Bonus: Regale him with the story of the witchy old loon who sold you the '40s-era football while he unwraps it.
      • Plan an abduction. Take him on a trip you've got all planned out. It doesn't have to be ten days in the Maldives. A night or two in the country will do. Show him you've been lovingly researching this thing for a while: Book dinner reservations in advance (at a place described as "rockin'," not "cute"); find the bar that does good cocktails; have three ideas for lazy ways to spend the afternoon, and let him pick ("in bed" should be one of them).
