FLEETWOOD MAC
Fleetwood Mac will release expanded and deluxe versions of their 1977 blockbuster Rumours album on January 29th, according to Vintage Vinyl News. The set, which comes just short of the 36th anniversary of the album's release, will be issued in an "Expanded Edition" featuring the original album, the Stevie Nicks-written B-Side "Silver Springs," a live collection of tracks from 1977, and a full disc of session outtakes. The "Deluxe Edition" tags on a second disc of outtakes, a remastered vinyl version of the album, and a new documentary focusing on the album's recording sessions, titled, The Rosebud Film.
Around the same time the Rumours box hits the street, Fleetwood Mac will be launching rehearsals for its 2013 tour. With such a broad amount of material to choose from, Stevie Nicks was asked how the band nails down the final concert setlist: "Well, you start going straight through Rumours, you start going through Fleetwood Mac Fleetwood Mac, and Mirage, and Tango In The Night, and you start finding a few little songs that everybody's wanted to do, but never actually suggested. And that's kind of how you do it. And you play those songs and they either work -- they either sound great or they don't. And you just state weeding it down from about 30, 40 songs up on the board and you start taking the cards down, y'know? And pretty soon you start to see that 20 song (setlist), y'know on the horizon."

ROLLING STONES
The Rolling Stones' One More Shot: The Rolling Stones Live pay-per-view concert will take place tomorrow night (December 15th) at Newark, New Jersey's Prudential Center. In addition to cameos by former Stones Bill Wyman and Mick Taylor, Bruce Springsteen, Lady Gaga, and the Black Keys will also join the Stones on stage. The show will mark the Stones' final 50th anniversary concert of 2012.
Mick Jagger said that performing is like any other profession with good days and bad: "Sometimes you don't feel very motivated, I'm sure that applies to everyone. You go out and as far as we're concerned, you get to some places, you're in the middle of the winter, you got a cold, you feel like crap. But when you get out there something happens because you look at the audience and they're, like, wild and you know they've been looking forward to it, and it gives you that sort of extra bit of inspiration. But most of the time it's there anyway."
Rather than dealing with his nerves just prior to showtime, Keith Richards maintains a fighter-like attitude to performing: "Everybody has different ways of. . . y'know, some people get nerves. . . to me, it's always felt like, 'Let the tiger out of the cage!'"
Despite all the distractions around a major band like the Stones, drummer Charlie Watts has always focused squarely on the music: "I've always seen myself as a member of a band. Y'know, when I play with bands, I very much play in the band. I'm not. . . I'm very much a band member."
Ron Wood says that over the years, each member has done their part to keep the Stones rolling when it seemed as though things might end: "Yeah, I think subconsciously, as well as consciously, we all have a huge percentage of 'let's save this institution,' yeah."
PAUL MCCARTNEY
Fans of Wednesday night's (December 12th) Paul McCartney and Nirvana team-up will be able to get their hands on studio version of the track soon. The tune, called, "Cut Me Some Slack," which McCartney premiered at Madison Square Garden's Hurricane Sandy benefit with Dave Grohl, Krist Novoselic, and Pat Smear, has been recorded in Los Angeles and will pop up on the soundtrack to Grohl's documentary on L.A.'s famed Sound City studio, released on February 1st. McCartney explained that at this stage of his career, how he's perceived as an artist is pretty much irrelevant to him or his work: "I'm not really fussed about what I am now. Y'know, 'cause I've been a lot of stuff I wanted to be. So, y'know, if I was ever trying to become a title -- 'a rock and roller' -- well, y'know, I don't think of myself as anything in particular. Y'know, obviously, as you get older it gets harder to be a punk. But I'm not really fussed about that, 'cause I think it'd be, like, daft to suddenly really try to be 15-years-old. So I have to accept to a degree what I am, y'know? I think of myself, basically, as a sort of rocker, who can write ballads as well."
BASEBALL STADIUMS TAKE UP MOST SPOTS ON FACEBOOK'S TOP 2012 'CHECK-INS'
Facebook reported Wednesday (December 12th) on the top 10 places that received the most "check-ins" on the social media site in 2012, and revealed that seven of them were baseball stadiums, topped by AT&T Park, home of the World Series champion San Francisco Giants. Why so many baseball stadium check-ins? The Yahoo! Sports blog Big League Stew says it makes sense because of the sport's long season and large ballparks. The 10 most-checked-in sites were:
PEPSI-CHICKEN FLAVORED LAY'S POTATO CHIPS AVAILABLE IN CHINA
Consumers in China have the first opportunity to taste Lays' newest flavor: Pepsi-Cola and Chicken -- in one! According to AdAge, the new chips taste "similar to barbecue with a sugary aftertaste." No word on whether the flavor will be rolled out to any other countries. (AdAge)
SUGAR IS BAD FOR YOUR BRAIN
A new UCLA study finds that a diet high in sugar, also known as fructose, may lower your intelligence. The scientists found that rats that were fed a diet high in sugar were dumber than those fed a diet high in omega-3 fatty acids. Researchers say eating too much sugar may harm your brain's ability to learn and retain information, and that just six-weeks of a high-sugar diet can affect your brain. (The Stir)
NINE FOODS YOU CAN USE FOR HOLIDAY DECORATING(Fox News):
1) Cranberries. The eye-catching, deep red tone of cranberries allows them to work perfectly as a centerpiece. Take a clear bowl or vase of any size and place a wide candle in the center. Then, fill the container with cranberries. For a more romantic feel, fill a container with cranberries and water and then place floating candles in the midst of the cranberries.
2) Gumdrops. Make a winter wonderland in a jar by assembling gumdrops of different sizes and colors onto lollipop sticks. Construct little snowmen, snowflakes, Christmas trees, or Santa Clauses. Before you place your gumdrop creations into a small jar, hot glue a thick piece of Styrofoam to the bottom of the jar. Poke the finished creations into the Styrofoam and then sprinkle some coconut shreds into the jar for a snowy landscape.
3) Peppermint Sticks.
4) Peppermint discs. For a colorful holiday tree, hot glue unwrapped peppermint discs to a Styrofoam cone starting from the base up. Place a peppermint disc on top for the tree topper. Create an assortment of candy trees and use as a centerpiece or mantelpiece.
5) Lemons, limes and clementines. Rather than using sliced fruit, use whole fruits to create a vibrant, fresh-smelling wreath. Place the fruits in a dry place for a few days so that the insides dehydrate. Then, hammer a thin, long nail through the center of each fruit. Pull the nail out and thread a long piece of wire through the hole so that an even amount of wire hangs out of each side of the fruit. Twist the halves of the wire together in the back of the fruit and wrap both sides of the wire around the wreath so the fruit securely attaches to the wreath. Space or group the fruits as you please.
6) Gingerbread cookies. Decorate gingerbread cookie cutouts and use them as tree ornaments. Before you make the gingerbread cutouts, make sure the dough is especially thick for durability. After you cut out the gingerbread shapes, poke a hole through the top of each cookie. Bake the gingerbread and let cool. Decorate with frosting and candies. Once the decorations dry or harden, string small pieces of ribbon through the holes and tie the ribbons into a loop. You now have homemade ornaments.
7) Pasta. Use uncooked pasta shapes (wagon wheel pasta works best) to create an assortment of snowflakes. Spray paint pieces of pasta white or silver. Add glitter, if desired. Once the spray paint dries, place the pasta pieces on a piece of wax paper in a snowflake pattern. Glue the pasta edges together. Once the glue dries, gently peel of the wax paper. Carefully hang with string.
8) Marshmallows and graham crackers. S'mores no more. This time of year, use marshmallows and graham crackers to make snowmen. Stack 3 marshmallows onto a lollipop stick. Cut off any part of the stick that is not covered by the marshmallows. Dot the marshmallows with eyes and buttons. Glue the bottom marshmallow onto a square of graham cracker. Sit the snowmen on your mantle or use them as a centerpiece.
9) Candy canes. Combine a couple of tall candy canes to create a card or picture holder. Place three wrapped candy canes back-to-back so that the curved edges work as a base. With the canes upside down, face the hooks outward in a tripod orientation. Tie a ribbon around the middle of the straight portion of the candy canes. Slide a picture or card into two of the hooks.
THE TOP FIVE MOST GOOGLED DIETS OF 2012(The Stir):
#1) The Michael Phelps Diet. Number #1, really?! Okay, so while training for Beijing, Olympic gold medal-winning swimmer Michael Phelps consumed 12,000 calories a day -- but he's an Olympic gold medal-winning swimmer!! I don't care how much time you spend at the gym, the average person can NOT burn that off.
#2) Beyond Diet. Otherwise known as the gluten-free regime Miley Cyrus credits for her washboard abs, the concept is that by eating foods with a low glycemic index, one can avoid the foods that cause a spike in glucose levels (which releases insulin, which packs on the pounds).
3#) The Raspberry Ketone Diet. I love Dr. Mehmet Oz, and I want to believe his claim about raspberry ketones being the "#1 miracle in a bottle for burning your fat." The ketones are supposed to boost levels of a fat-blasting hormone; so far, this seems to work for mice ... but no actual studies have been conducted on humans yet.
#4) PINK Method Diet. P.I.N.K. stands for Power, Intensity, Nutrition and cardio (with a K, because, well, otherwise that would just look dumb). It's basically a traditional healthy eating/exercise plan mapped out in extreme detail and tons of promotional incentives; also, Dr. Phil is a fan.
#5) The Adriana Lima Diet. Come on, seriously? Model Adriana Lima had to drop 40 pounds for a Victoria's Secret Fashion Show just 6 weeks after giving birth, so she restricts herself to protein shakes and water -- NO SOLIDS -- for nine days before the big show (12 hours before the show she stops drinking altogether). How is this a "diet," exactly?
EIGHT REASONS WHY A WOMAN WON'T GIVE YOU HER NUMBER(Your Tango):
1) She is just not interested. Maybe she met you in a bar and has been talking to you for just enough time to decide you are not someone she plans to go home with or date. If she does not want to take the conversation further than the vicinity of the barstool, she will probably start sending signals of her disinterest well before you initiate the request to exchange information.
2) She knows that one of her friends is interested in you already. Girlfriends will talk to each other about who they may be interested in, whether he is a longtime male friend with potential or someone they just met that night. If one girl expresses interest in you and you start talking to her friend, the friend may be pleasant and kind in return but will stop short of sharing her digits. She may even think you are attractive, but her loyalty to her girlfriend keeps her from taking the next step.
3) You met online. There seems to be a protocol for the natural progression in sharing information when you meet on dating sites. Initially, even though you both share what you hope to be authentic, current pictures of each other and exchange messages behind the façade of a witty screen name, actually crossing over to sharing real names and personal details makes women feel vulnerable.
4) She is married and faithful. Sure, she may be out with all her girlfriends in a bar on the weekend. She may be flirting with every man she talks to or dancing with every guy who asks. A woman may be happily married, but that does not mean she does not like the attention. There are a lot of married women who just enjoy going out with friends. If a man talks to (or flirts with) them, they will be nice and carry on the conversation as long as it stays neutral. Since they are attached and not actively seeking someone to talk to, their confidence is compelling. These women aren't needy or desperate, and it shows. However, since they are happily married, they likely want to remain that way and will keep their number to themselves.
5) She works with you. She could be either your cubicle-mate or your company's client. Even if she is interested in you and, in any other scenario, wouldn't hesitate for a minute to get to know you intimately, she may be wary of the consequences associated with office romances. She may have a hard time not flirting with you, but if she goes cold when you request her cell number for personal use, she may need her job more than a date.
6) She is still getting over a breakup. She may be out with friends and willing to talk to men, but if she is still reeling over an ex, she is not willing to open up too much. Women and men handle breakups differently. Women tend to prolong the post-breakup mode with extended rehashing of how it all fell apart, or numerous sob sessions. Unfortunately, if you catch her in this mode, she may be guarded and not ready to open up to someone new. Bad timing is more of a factor here than anything else.
7) She lied for no reason. This sounds kind of generic, so I will clarify. Maybe you met once before in a public place and chatted about general topics, with the assumption you would ever cross paths again - and then you did. It's possible she could have blurred some details or overstated her persona the first time in an effort to impress you, thinking no damage could come of it. But now, if she gives you her number, she will have to explain her previous embellishments.
8) She doesn't know you well enough yet. This is a valid reason most women use. Unfortunately, if she continues to say this after multiple opportunities to engage in open communication, then she may not want to go further and doesn't know a gentle way to tell you she's no longer interested. At this point, it's time to move on.
