RUSH
Rush's upcoming album, Clockwork Angels, is being turned into a novel by Colorado-based sci-fi author Kevin J. Anderson, who wrote on Facebook, "Most of you are aware of my long-standing friendship with (Rush drummer) Neil Peart . . . For more than twenty years, Neil and I have wanted to collaborate on something MAJOR, a way we could tie together our imaginations, and at last that's happening. I'm writing the novelization of Rush's forthcoming album, Clockwork Angels." Anderson added that he worked with Peart to "flesh out the epic story told over the course of the music," which involves "lost cities, pirates, anarchists, exotic carnivals, and a rigid Watchmaker who imposes precision on every aspect of daily life." More details will be coming. (RushIsABand.com)

JOURNEY
Yesterday , in honor of Valentine's Day, Journey released the video for its new single "Resonate" starring lovebirds, guitarist Neal Schon and his girlfriend, White House party-crasher and TV reality star, Michaele Salahi.
VAN HALEN
Looks like Van Halen won't get its chance to debut at Number One on the Billboard album chart on Wednesday. Following her sweep of the 54th Grammy Awards this past Sunday night (February 12th), as well as her post-surgery return to singing at the same event, it appears that Adele will top the chart once again. According to Hits Daily Double, Adele's 21 album is on track to sell around 240,000 copies, far outdistancing the 187,000 copies moved of Van Halen's A Different Kind Of Truth.
The Van Halen album, the band's first since 1998 and first with original singer David Lee Roth in 28 years, was expected to sell somewhere between 180,000 and 200,000 copies.
Industry forecasters believed that the reunited group could have a shot at Number One, depending on what happened with Adele.
The British singer dominated the Grammy Awards on Sunday night, and weeks of hype and promotion surrounding her first performance since having her vocal cords repaired late last year helped keep 21 at the top of the chart.
THE GRATEFUL DEAD
The Grateful Dead will release the massive 14-DVD box set All The Years Combine: The DVD Collection on April 17th, featuring nearly 38 hours of legendary Dead footage. Ultimate Classic Rock reported that the set will feature the never before released on DVD concert film, So Far, which features "footage from private sessions taped in Marin County, California, portions of the band's 1985 New Year's Eve concert and psychedelic visuals."
The box set includes such Dead film favorites as The Grateful Dead Movie, The Closing Of Winterland, Dead Ahead, Truckin' Up To Buffalo, Ticket To New Year's, Downhill From Here, View From The Vault, View From The Vault Vol. 2, View From The Vault Vol. 3, and View From The Vault Vol. 4.
GUNS N' ROSES
Guns N' Roses keyboardist Dizzy Reed has told Billboard that all five original members of the band will be present when the group is inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland on April 14th. Reed revealed, "I know that all the original band is going to be there. I don't know exactly what's going to go down. It's one of those things I'm sure will all come together and be really cool. I'm just going to go in with a good attitude and a clear head and a grateful heart."
Singer Axl Rose, guitarists Slash and Izzy Stradlin, bassist Duff McKagan and drummer Steven Adler will all be inducted into the Hall, along with later members Reed, drummer Matt Sorum and guitarist Gilby Clarke.
MAN ACCIDENTALLY PLAYS PORN AT KID'S BIRTHDAY PARTY
A Utah man rented a DVD of The Smurfs to show at his child's party but when he went to play it from his laptop he accidentally showed a brief clip of porn he has stored on the computer. The man notified police that someone has tampered with The Smurfs DVD but police found no issue with the disc and assumed the porn was probably from his laptop. Police do not intend to investigate further or seek criminal charges but the police chief did say, "He's got some explaining to do (to children at the party and their parents)." (standard.net)
80% LIE ON ONLINE DATING PROFILES
Eighty percent of online daters lie on their profiles, according to a new study -- but liars give themselves away. Shorter profiles are often a sign that people are lying, say the researchers, who analyzed profiles against the correct figures for height, weight and age for 78 online daters. People who are lying - even 'white lies' such as a few pounds off their weight or a few years off their age - are also less happy about using the pronoun 'I'. Daters who had lied about their age, height or weight or had included a photo the researchers found to be less than representative of reality, were likely to avoid discussing their appearance in their written descriptions, choosing instead to talk about work or life achievements. 1/3 OF SINGLES EXPECTED SEX YESTERDAY
A poll of men and women using a dating app on Facebook or cellphones found about one-third of U.S. singles expected to have sex yesterday on Valentine's Day. The site AreYouInterested.com, with more than 1.3 million fans on its Facebook Fan Page, conducted an online poll the week of Feb. 6 among 515 male and female respondents. The survey indicated 33 percent of respondents admitted checking the Facebook status of an ex to see if they had plans on Valentine's Day. Almost 75 percent of singles said they felt that a first date on Valentine's Day was a good idea, indicating singles were not intimidated by the romantic pressure the holiday typically brings. The survey indicated 58 percent said men should pay for women's Valentine's Day dinner. About 67 percent said if they were in a relationship that was rocky, they would end it before Valentine's Day, rather than wait it out, or as one respondent advised: "End it ... but after the gifts are given."
