LINDSEY BUCKINGHAM

Lindsey Buckingham has just announced a 30-date summer swing through the South, the Midwest, and Canada. Buckingham kicks the jaunt off on July 26th in Birmingham, Alabama and eventually winds things down on September 8th in Rama, Ontario. Along the way he'll be making stops in Tennessee, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Florida, Louisiana, Texas, Illinois, Wisconsin, and Iowa.

Although his solo career has often been interrupted, if not co-opted by Fleetwood Mac, Buckingham retains a strong sense of allegiance to the band -- which is set to begin rehearsals for their next tour just after New Year's: "There's also an accountability, y'know? These are four other people to whom I owe a great debt, y'know, in many areas, and there's a lot of problems, there's a lot of craziness -- but there's a lot of love, too. You can't downplay that at all. The thing that I always did for the group was to take the raw material from everybody and to fashion it into records, and, y'know, that's a responsibility that I took pride in. It was something that I felt sort of blessed to be able to do for other people."

Linsdey has a show scheduled for August 20th at Fitzgerald's in Houston.

THE BEATLES

Yevgeny Bryun from Russia's Ministry of Health blamed the Beatles' endorsing drug use and alternative lifestyles in the 1960's for the country's drug trafficking and addiction problems today. The Telegraph reported that Bryun said at a Moscow press conference: "After the Beatles went to expand their consciousness in India ashrams, they introduced that idea -- the changing of one's psychic state of mind using drugs -- to the population. When business understood that you could trade on that -- on pleasure and goods associated with pleasure -- that's probably where it all began."

Although in 1967 Paul McCartney was the first Beatle to announce to the press he had taken LSD, he in fact was the last to take it, having waited nearly two years after John Lennon and George Harrison were spiked with the drug by their dentist at a dinner party: "I really was frightened of that kind of stuff, 'cause it's what you're taught when you're young; 'Ay, watch out for them devil drugs!' So when acid came 'round, we'd heard that you're never the same. It alters your life and you never think the same again. And I think John (Lennon) was excited by that prospect, I was rather (laughs) frightened by that prospect -- 'Uh, just what I need?' So I delayed and I was seen to sort of stall a little bit within the group, 'cause there was a lot of peer pressure. I mean talk about peer pressure -- the Beatles?"

CROSBY, STILLS & NASH

Crosby, Stills, & Nash have just revealed the tracklisting to the group's upcoming live album and DVD, called CSN 2012. The set, which is due out on July 13th, is the group's first live collection in over 20 years, and includes such classics as "Suite: Judy Blue Eyes," "Our House," "Marrakesh Express," "Long Time Gone," "Teach Your Children," "Deja Vu," and "Wooden Ships."

CSN also spotlights their solo careers with a take on Graham Nash's "Military Madness," Stephen Stills' "Love The One You're With," "Johnny's Garden" and his Buffalo Springfield classics "For What It's Worth" and "Bluebird." Also included are the new songs "Radio" and "Almost Gone," as well as the group's tight-harmony cover of Bob Dylan's "Girl From North Country." CSN 2012 is dedicated to the late "Mama" Cass Elliot, who introduced Nash to Crosby and Stills and in who's home the trio first sang together.

Graham Nash said that over 40 years after first singing together, the quality of Crosby, Stills, & Nash's harmonies remain unique to them: "We have no claim on any of the notes that we sing -- anyone can sing the same notes that we sing; but they can't sound like me and David and Stephen when we sing together. The way our voices move the air before it gets into the microphone is unique. Nobody sounds like us. Nobody."

The tracklisting to CSN 2012 is:

    • Disc One: "Carry On/Questions," "Marrakesh Express," "Long Time Gone," "Military Madness," "Southern Cross," "Lay Me Down," "Almost Gone," "Wasted On The Way," "Radio," "Bluebird," "Deja Vu," and "Wooden Ships."
    • Disc Two: "Helplessly Hoping," "In Your Name," "Girl From The North Country," "As I Come of Age," "Guinevere," "Johnny's Garden," "Learn To Live (So Begins the Task)," "Cathedral," "Our House," "Love The One You're With" "For What It's Worth," "Teach Your Children," and "Suite: Judy Blue Eyes."
    •  Bonus Footage: "A Conversation with David Crosby, Stephen Stills & Graham Nash" and "On the Road Interviews with Band & Crew.

The band has a show scheduled for August 15th at The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion.

    AEROSMITH

Aerosmith has pushed back the release date of its new album, Music From Another Dimension, to sometime in November from its original date of August 28th, according to Q1043.com. No reason has been given for the delay, but one possibility could be that singer Steven Tyler and guitarist Joe Perry did not finish the mixing process before Aerosmith left on its current tour with Cheap Trick.

All the recording has been completed for the disc, which will be Aerosmith's first set of all-new material since 2001's Just Push Play.

Bassist Tom Hamilton said that he felt it was important for Aerosmith to make a new album again: "I've been waiting for this for so long, because I so want to be known as a band that is still firing on all cylinders. We could go out and work every year and just play, you know, all our same old songs year after year, but it would have been a very uneasy feeling to me to think about not ever having an album of new material out."

The first song to be heard from the album, "Legendary Child," is a reworked version of a track originally written during the sessions for 1993's Get A Grip.

The track will also be included in the upcoming film G.I. Joe: Retaliation, which was supposed to come out this Friday but has now been pushed back to March 2013.

Aerosmith began work on Music From Another Dimension last year, with the band laying down music tracks while Tyler made his debut as a judge on American Idol.

DATING SITE MATCHES PEOPLE BY SOCIAL MEDIA PERFORMANCE

A new dating website matches people up based on their social networking prowess on sites like Facebook and Twitter. Tawkify, a matchmaking website, is partnering with social influence-measuring website Klout to create a new method for creating successful relationships. People who sign up for the dating service are paired based on their Klout score, a number from 0 to 100 that represents how influential they are on social media sites. The concept is this: If a lot of people Like your status updates on Facebook, then you'll get along famously with someone who gets a lot of plus ones on Google+. According to E. Jean Carroll, Elle Magazine advice columnist and co-CEO of Tawkify, a person's Klout score is an "authentic measurement of sophistication, wit, cultural saavy, and appeal." She stands by her new algorithm, and insists a blind experiment the company conducted proves the method works. "On dating sites, 81% (sic) people fib about their weight, height and how much money they make. You can't lie about your Klout score." (Tecca.com)

    MODERATE DRINKERS ARE HAPPIEST:

Moderate drinkers appear to have better quality-of-life than those who abstain or drink too much. A study found those who drank in moderation -- no more than 14 drinks a week and no more than three a day for women and four a day for men -- have better overall scores than those who abstained completely from alcohol. Quality-of-life was measured using the Health Utilities index, which looks at factors including dexterity, emotion, cognition and mobility. The researchers said regular moderate drinkers scored highest in each of the health indices. (UPI)

    FOOD INTEREST LINKED TO DRUGS?

People uninterested in food may be more likely to use cocaine. Researchers found that neurons associated with overeating were also associated with non-food activities, such as drug taking. But while both are linked to the brain's 'reward' circuitry, a desire to eat was linked to decreased interest in 'novelty' behavior such as drugs. Dr Marcelo Dietrich, of Yale School of Medicine, said: 'Using genetic approaches, we found that increased appetite for food can actually be associated with decreased interest in novelty as well as in cocaine, and on the other hand, less interest in food can predict increased interest in cocaine.' PEOPLE WHO DRINK BEER ARE INTO CASUAL SEX

People who drink beer are apparently 60 percent more likely to have casual sex, according to a study from OK Cupid. Both men and women who enjoy a pint are 60 percent more likely to sleep with someone early in a relationship, statistics show.

Only the 'beer test' works to predict a woman's possible interest in casual sex, according to the OKCupid data, but the site claimed these also work for men. If they say yes, these are the implied odds of first-date sex:

    1) In a certain light, wouldn't nuclear war be exciting? 82%
    2) Assuming you were in the position to do so, would you launch nuclear weapons under any circumstances? 82%
    3) Could you imagine yourself killing someone? 82%

TOP 3 THINGS A MAN NOTICES ABOUT A WOMAN (Yahoo!)

Smile: Quite a few women have insecurities about the way they look. Trust me, you are your harshest critic! Looking good is not just about your physical beauty, but also your confidence. Having a genuine smile on your face can help to convey your confidence and optimism, and when you meet someone for the first time, he will not be able to resist getting to know you better.

So whenever you meet someone new (or even when you are hanging out with your friends, for that matter), remember to smile a lot. After all, it does not cost you anything and helps to brighten up someone else's day. Besides, if you stick to your resolution of smiling more often, you will soon find yourself feeling more cheerful and upbeat. Isn't that a goal worth pursuing?

Your hair: There are few things as attractive as a healthy, gorgeous head of hair. Getting great hair does not mean that you have to drop thousands at your local salon. But provided you follow a healthy diet and some simple tips about hair care, there is no reason why you should not have the hair that you have always dreamt about.

You should spend an extra 5 minutes daily in getting a simple but pretty hairdo. Just check out these articles for details: Top everyday hairstyles and Right way to shampoo & condition your hair.

Your clothes: Your clothes can tell people a lot about who you are. You don't necessarily have to wear the latest fashions or skimpy outfits if you want to attract guys, but you should keep one major thing in mind when getting dressed: how comfortable you feel in a certain outfit. All other considerations are secondary.
