You may be fatter than you realize. Most women tune out at 15 seconds. Women hate being called "babe". 8 flirting mistakes you don't want to make.
ROLLING STONES
The Rolling Stones' upcoming HBO documentary now has a name and a premiere date, according to Rolling Stone. The 50th anniversary chronicle, named Crossfire Hurricane -- a classic lyric from 1968's "Jumpin' Jack Flash" -- will premiere on HBO on November 15th. Director Brett Morgan described the doc in a statement, explaining, "This is not an academic history lesson. . . (it's an invitation to) experience firsthand the Stones' nearly mythical journey from outsiders to rock & roll royalty."
This week, the Stones will likely announce the details of the upcoming performances, which are heavily rumored to take place later this year in London and Brooklyn, New York. According to insiders, the band is slated to play four shows in December -- two at London's O2 Arena and two at Brooklyn's new Barclays Center. The band has recently been recording some tracks to be featured on a soon-to-be announced career spanning box set.
Keith Richards posted audio answers to his fans on the "Ask Keith" section of his official website, KeithRichards.com. He shed some light on the difference from an avid music fan and a working musician: "Once you become a musician, you kind of give up one thing, which is just the sheer innocence of listening to music, without bothering to know how it's done, or even bothering to figure out why. Just the sheer innocence of just listening to music. And that's what musicians tend to forget. Because, once you're into music, you're always trying to figure out what the cat's playing. So, it becomes, like, you're distracted in a way. Here's to all the listeners, y'know, that don't have to bother about knowing (laughs) this stuff."
THE WHO
It was 30 years ago today (September 4th, 1982) that the Who released their final studio album for 24 years, the ill-fated, It's Hard. The album, which followed Pete Townshend's stint in rehab for alcohol, cocaine, and heroin abuse, also came after the completion of Townshend's third solo album, the critically acclaimed, All The Best Cowboys Have Chinese Eyes. For the first time in the band's history, Townshend actually pooled Roger Daltrey, John Entwistle, and Kenney Jones over what subjects they were interested in before he wrote the material, with global concerns topping the list. Who producer-engineer Glyn Johns was back behind the boards for the first time since 1978's Who Are You.
The album's lead single, "Athena" peaked at a disappointing Number 28 on the Billboard Hot 100. Interestingly, although the Who did perform seven of the 12 tracks from It's Hard over the course of its 1982 Farewell Tour -- "Athena" was only played 10 times during the 42-date trek, and was dropped entirely from the second leg of the tour. Roger Daltrey admitted to us that he was never a fan of how "Athena" turned out on record -- or in concert: "No, I never liked that song. It's a great record. I think what happened with that song, it was originally called 'Teresa' and then Pete was talking to me about Nick Roeg's girlfriend (Theresa Russell) and how he fancied her, and that song was written about her -- but then it changed into 'She's a bomb' and I think I've got a psychological problem with it. I listened to it on the record the other day, and it's a great record; there's so much energy on that thing but I still don't think there's a center to that song. The fact that he changed the title in that and didn't stick to what it was supposed to be lost it's center to me."
AEROSMITH
It was back in 2010 when Aerosmith seriously considered replacing singer Steven Tyler, whose relapse into drug use and onstage injury led the band to cancel a U.S. tour and push back work on a new album. Although a number of candidates for the job were rumored at the time, Aerosmith guitarist Brad Whitford finally confirmed one over the weekend on VH1's That Metal Show: ex-Van Halen vocalist Sammy Hagar.
Whitford explained, "We had to talk about it -- maybe we could put a different name on it and bring somebody else in? We spoke to Sammy and he was really excited about it. I love Sammy. It was like, 'Oh, man, this would be so cool!' But it all started to come back together on its own."
Tyler and the rest of Aerosmith did in fact settle their differences, and the band's new album, Music From Another Dimension, comes out November 6th.
Meanwhile, Hagar has continued to record and tour with Chickenfoot, which also features ex-Van Halen bassist Michael Anthony and Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith.
That group recently announced plans to reissue its gold-selling 2009 self-titled debut as a double-disc set on October 16th. The new version will feature bonus live tracks recorded on the group's recent tour behind its sophomore studio effort, Chickenfoot III.
PEOPLE GAIN 9 POUNDS ON VACATION?!
A new survey found that the average tourist puts on up to 9 lbs in just one week on a summer vacation. 69 percent of respondents admitted to putting on 1-5 lbs during a vacation, 21 percent admitted to putting on 5-9 lbs and 5 percent said they had gained more than 14 pounds in just one week away. When asked the reason for the excessive behavior, 86 percent said it was due to using their vacation as an excuse to overindulge and 14 percent said that they pay in advance for all inclusive deals so want to get their money's worth. YOU MAY BE FATTER THAN YOU REALIZE
BMI numbers actually understate how many people are obese. One common complaint about the use of Body Mass Index as a predictor of health is that it can overstate obesity; since the number is a factor only of weight and height, a very muscular athlete, for example, might inaccurately qualify as obese. But most people are not muscular athletes, and a new study in PloS One that compared X-ray fat measurements with participants' BMI numbers found that the formula actually understated how much fat they carried. Women were particularly prone to this misrepresentation. According to the researchers, BMI only identifies actually obese people as obese three-fifths of the time, and by a more accurate metric, a staggering 64% of American women should be classified as obese. MOST WOMEN TUNE OUT AT 15 SECONDS
Nearly a third of women 'tune out' of a conversation after just 15 seconds, according to a new study. Work talk, TV gossip, household chores and complaining are the subjects that are most likely to make people 'switch-off'. One in three women who took part in the survey admitted that they often had 'pretend conversations' in which they nod and agree while having no idea what was being said. And it's not just the women who ignore others. Over a third of the ladies felt that their partners were not listening to them intently and a quarter of men admitting to switching off in the first 10 seconds of a conversation with their other half. Meanwhile men are twice as likely to stop listening during a conversation about 'thoughts and feelings' or gossip.
WOMEN HATE BEING CALLED 'BABE'
'Babe' has been voted the most hated pet name for women. A new poll found that sweetcheeks, snookums and muffin were also despised, but terms such as gorgeous, beautiful and lovely were considered acceptable. The research also revealed that only one in five of those surveyed calls their partner by their full name the majority of the time.

8 FLIRTING MISTAKES YOU DON'T WANT TO MAKE (TheStir.com)
1) Filling the empty silences with blabber about nothing. I'm hugely prone to this one - I hate silence, so I chatter through it. Instead of doing that, simply let the silence be.
2) Acting bitchy. Dudes don't dig bitchy women. So rather than complaining about your job, your roommate, your best friend's sister's boyfriend's girlfriend, be positive about your life. It's a good one!
3) Going on and on about yourself. You know you're fab, and if you let him talk about himself for a while, he'll know it too.
4) Being oblivious to boundaries. Personal boundaries are super important. Don't go out there expecting that each guy you meet is "The One," and therefore you should know everything about him, including date of birth, social security number, work ID number, etc. Give it time and don't invade anyone's space.
5) Talking about your exes. We all have 'em. Most of 'em suck (which is WHY they're exes). But if you go on and on about an old boyfriend, the guy you're crushing on is TOTALLY going to think you're still into him.
6) Staring at him. Looking at the guy appreciatively is no biggie, but when you just stare? He's probably going to get sicked out. It's creepy.
7) Getting too touchy-feely. If you're flirting with him, a casual hand on the arm for a couple of seconds is good. What's NOT good is to feel the guy up. It's not sexy on a first date.
8) Giving away too much too soon. Giving away too much too soon goes along pretty closely with personal boundaries, but it's slightly different. If you give the guy everything you ever want him to know without leaving any room for mystery, you're probably not going to get him knocking at your door to come back in.
Thanks for listening to The Eagle while you work. Keep it fabulous, Houston!
