I mean, even I and my accountants don't actually know my finances, but it's marvelous. (A) couple of years ago I was up to $400 million, and then suddenly, two years later, I'm now up to $700 million? Well, thank you very much. It's not true, but that's really cool."

ZAK STARKEY

Happy Birthday to Ringo Starr's oldest child -- and the Who's drummer since 1996 -- Zak Starkey, who turns 47 today (September 13th)!!! Starkey, who's mother was Maureen Cox, was the second "Beatle baby" born, following John and Cynthia Lennon's son Julian Lennon who was born in 1963. Ringo and Maureen went on to have two more children -- Jason in 1967 and Lee in 1970 -- prior to the couple's 1975 divorce.

Although Keith Moon did not give Starkey his first drum kit -- dad Ringo did -- Moon is responsible for giving Starkey his first professional set of drums -- the white Premier drum kit which Moon used for his final tour with the Who in 1975 and 1976.

CHEAP TRICK

Semi-retired Cheap Trick drummer Bun E. Carlos is up in arms over not being included on the band's new track on the new charity disc, A Very Special Christmas - 25 Years. Carlos has been absent from the band's drum stool since 2010, with Rick Nielsen's son Daxx handling the drum duties. Carlos told Billboard he feels snubbed by the band recording without him, saying, "I'm a full member of Cheap Trick in all respects. Solely as an accommodation to some of the band members, I reluctantly agreed to take a temporary hiatus from touring. . . The other members have never seriously talked to me about my leaving the band permanently."

Carlos, who founded the band with Nielsen and Tom Petersson in 1973, says that he wasn't the only one shocked by his absence on the new Cheap Trick track: "The Special Olympics was as surprised by this as I was. . . they had no idea I wasn't on the record. And, I don't want them to lose an opportunity to support this great cause because of this. . . But Tom, Rick, and Robin (Zander) simply can't make a recording without me and call it Cheap Trick. . . (I'm) looking after my interests in Cheap Trick and doing my best to make sure we stand for what is great about rock n' roll."

SLEEPING IN ON WEEKENDS MAKES YOU MORE TIRED
Sleeping in over the weekend just makes you more tired when Monday morning comes around. Sleep expert Gregory Carter said sleeping even an hour later than usual on Saturday and Sunday disrupts the body's internal clock because it makes it harder to get to sleep on Sunday night, and as a result more difficult to get up the following day. Dr Carter added: 'A great myth of sleep deprivation is that if we miss sleep over the course of the working week, we need to catch up on an hour-by-hour basis on the weekend.' But he insisted that any 'sleep debt' from the working week can be balanced out by just spending eight hours in bed. (Daily Mail)

MOST PEOPLE CLUELESS ABOUT BODIES
More than half of people surveyed in a recent study were so clueless about their bodies that they cannot pinpoint the correct location of their heart. Most also do not know how much blood we have, how many teeth are in our mouths or what roles our vital organs perform. Many of the 2,000 respondents questioned by researchers were unable to say what our correct body temperature should be, while nearly 10 percent were unsure of the number of kidneys we have. Additionally, the study found 60 percent could not name their own blood type.

OUR LACK OF KNOWLEDGE ABOUT OUR OWN BODIES

50% don't know where their heart is (center-left of the chest)
75% don't know how many bones are in an adult body (206)
Just under 50% don't know how many teeth we have (32)
40% don't know where their kidneys are
Just under 10% don't know how many kidneys we have
More than 50% don't know where their gall bladder is
60% don't know their own blood type
66% did not know that the average adult has between five and six liters of blood
18% think a visor was a type of tooth (it's a surface that protects the eyes)
75% do not know that the liver is our biggest internal organ
40% think a single lung is of a greater size

WHY MOST MEETINGS FAIL (CNBC)

-Being terrified of the executives at the meeting and going in expecting it to be confrontational instead of a collaboration.

-Not doing enough homework in advance - who's going to be in the room, what are their hidden agendas, etc.

-Not getting to the point quickly enough. Next thing you know, the executive in the front row is checking his email, or worse - just left the room.

-Bad attitudes. Maybe you're a tech person who assumes that the executives sitting in front of you "just won't get it" or maybe you're just looking at your slice of the pie and not realizing the 360-degree picture that the executives sitting in front of you have.

-Boring the hell out of people with PowerPoint slides. One expert calls this "Death by PowerPoint."This is no joke - I have literally seen people's careers come unglued and go down the tubes because they had too many slides! Executives want discussion, not slide-driven presentations. If the presenter cannot speak off-slide, then I don't think they know what they're talking about."
