FLEETWOOD MAC
Mick Fleetwood says that he's going to try one last time to get Christine McVie to rejoin Fleetwood Mac., according to Ultimate Classic Rock. McVie, who left the band in 1998 has sat out of their past two tours in 2003/2004 and 2009. Fleetwood revealed to The Sun that McVie will be spending time with most of Fleetwood Mac before the kick off of their tour in April, explaining, "I'm seeing Chris here in London before I leave. And even though she loathes flying and she's never been back to the United States since the day she left, she is getting on a plane and flying to Hawaii with me. I'm going to hold her hand all the way, even if I have to handcuff it."
Despite the fact that McVie has shown zero interest in returning to the road, Fleetwood intends to pitch the idea to her one more time: She's going to come and stay for three weeks in Maui. I'm getting goosebumps just thinking about it. John (McVie's) going to come over from Honolulu to see her and then she's going to L.A. to see Stevie (Nicks), who misses her terribly and is really excited to see her. But it'll be her decision. But we'd make her very welcome if she wanted to creep on that stage again."
During the band's last tour, Stevie Nicks asked how she feels fronting what she's often called a "boys club" without McVie sharing the stage with her: "Being the only girl in Fleetwood Mac? You have to understand, I've been the only girl in Fleetwood Mac now since 1998 and it's 2009. I'm used to it now. I miss Christine every day because she was my best buddy. She was my best friend. And I probably spent more time on the road with Fleetwood Mac than anywhere. I've spent more time with these people than I have with my own family. So the loss of Christine as one of my best girlfriends was horrific for me. But she's been gone a long, long, time now. There's not a day that I don't wish that she'd call up and say 'I'm back!' -- but she's not going to. So we've all kind've accepted that now."
PETE TOWNSHEND
Pete Townshend took time out to heap praise on Lady Gaga at the expense of reality TV talent shows. Townshend, who's currently on the road with the Who on their Quadrophenia & More tour, told The Sun, "I got hearing aids recently and I was sitting there watching TV. And I've now realized -- you don't listen to TV any more. You sit there and spend your whole time shouting: 'What a c***, he's a c***, she's a c***, she's useless, she's great -- vote for her.' It has created a different way of watching television. Reality TV is about what goes on in the room when you're watching it."
Townshend went on to point out what he feels is a shining example of true, young musical talent, explaining: "The machinery of making music means more people can do it now. The technology has made it easier to make music without being profoundly gifted. What Lady Gaga has done is created an iconic figure who is someone we can get inside. She's a story and it's fascinating to watch -- she's like a space oddity."
JOHN FOGERTY
John Fogerty will release his long-awaited duets collection, Wrote A Song For Everyone, on May 28th. The album, which has been several years in the making, features high profile collaborations on Fogerty's classic songs -- including many of his Creedence Clearwater Revival standards. Highlights on the set include Bob Seger on "Who'll Stop The Rain," "Fortunate Son" with Foo Fighters, "Lodi" with Fogerty's sons Shane and Tyler -- along with "Born On The Bayou" with Kid Rock, which was used by NFL Network in their coverage of last weekend's Super Bowl. Other contributors include My Morning Jacket, Keith Urban, Zac Brown Band, Brad Paisley, Alan Jackson, Miranda Lambert, Tom Morello, Jennifer Hudson, and Allen Toussaint.
Fogerty talked about the album to American Songwriter, explaining, "I encouraged each of these artists to come up with their own vision of my song, rather than just redoing what I'd recorded in the past. I was hoping they'd have some different twist so it would be fresh, so I'd have to work, too. I wanted it to be something new."
The tracklisting to Wrote A Song For Everyone is:
"Fortunate Son" with Foo Fighters
"Almost Saturday Night" with Keith Urban
"Lodi" with Shane Fogerty and Tyler Fogerty

NO SUPER BOWL HALF-TIME SHOW IN 2014?
Beyonce put on a widely-acclaimed, stunning half-time show during the Super Bowl on Sunday (February 3rd), but the New York Post reported yesterday that there might not be any show at all between the halves of the NFL championship game next year because of the weather. The 2014 Super Bowl is being held at MetLife Stadium, home of the the New York Giants and Jets, which is an open-air arena, in New Jersey, in early February -- which means it's going to be cold, at the least. The Post cited sources as saying there's currently no plan for there to be a half-time show because NFL officials can't figure out how to stage one at what will be the first-ever outdoor, cold-weather Super Bowl. One source told the newspaper, "It's not only the acts and the singers, but the crews that have to put the stage together. You know, the assembly has to be done a certain way. It's choreographed and rehearsed so it can be assembled and disassembled as fast as possible. And you just can't assemble the stage and break it down fast enough in the cold." The planning official said, "There's no plan right now of what to do in [a halftime show's] place." Another source said the half-time show isn't the only worry, stating, "There are a thousand things we didn't think about" in regards to the cold. NFL chiefs, lawyers and TV executives are reportedly debating the protocols for what to do in the case of a weather emergency, like a heavy snowstorm.
BEER TO HELP POWER BREWERY
The Alaskan Brewing Company has installed a system that will allow them to turn waste from the brewing process into energy to power the majority of their operation. The $1.8 million furnace concerts the company's spent grain into steam. The company is expecting to offset the brewery's annual energy costs by 70 percent when the furnace is fully operational -- sometime in the next month. Company officials joke that they are making "beer-powered beer." (FOX News)
YOUR SICK COWORKERS' GERMS ARE EVERYWHERE
According to scientists at the University of Arizona, your sick co-workers' germs may be unavoidable. Their research shows that half of the most commonly touched surfaces in the office - like the coffee pot handle, tabletops, doorknobs and phones - can become infected with a sick person's germs before lunchtime. The study was conducted by placing a droplet of water laced with fake cold, flu and stomach flu viruses on one of the 80 office workers involved with the test. Four hours later, more than half of the office surfaces had traces of the fake viruses and by the end of the day 70% of the tested surfaces had traces of the fake stomach flu viruses. Researchers said that the risk of getting sick from one of these fake viruses was between 40 and 90 percent. A second study showed that in an environment where free tissues, hand sanitizer and disinfecting wipes were offered to employees ,the risk of becoming infected with one of the fake viruses went down to 10 perfect. NOISY COUPLES HAVE MORE FUN IN THE BEDROOM
Researchers at the University of Leeds have found that couples who audibly express themselves during sex tend to have more fun. Both men and women found that having a vocal partner boosted their confidence by making them feel like their efforts were appreciated and resulted in a better encounter overall. (Daily Mail)
McDONALDS HAS A NEW HAPPY MEAL ENTRÉE
McDonald's says it is offering its first new Happy Meal entree in a decade: Fish McBites. The new Happy Meal will be available at U.S. restaurants starting this week through March, to coincide with Lent. The 7-piece Fish McBites will come with frengh fries, apple slices and a drink. The company had announced last month that the Fish McBites would be sold on the standard menu. Fish McBites, which are fried pieces of fish, will use the same Alaska Pollock used in the fast-food chain's Filet-O-Fish. (Fox News)
7 UNEXPECTED HEALTH BENEFITS YOU GET FROM SEX (Readers Digest)
1. It helps you breathe easier. Sex is reputedly a natural antihistamine, helping to combat hay fever and asthma symptoms.
2. You'll look younger. A good sex life is a key to youthful looks, according to a study of 3,500 people age 18 to 102 conducted by the Royal Edinburgh Hospital in Scotland. Researchers attributed this to reductions in stress, greater contentment and better sleep, all of which are also associated with sexual activity.
3. It can help your body fight disease. Engaging in sex once or twice a week produces 30 percent higher levels of immunoglobulin A, which boosts your body's immune system. Scientists have also found that having an active sex life may even lower your risk of developing cancer, heart disease and stroke. On top of all that, it's a remedy for colds and flu.
4. It burns calories. Like any exercise, sexual intercourse burns fat and calories - about 96 calories in 20 minutes for a 150-lb. person. That means it'll burn off the calories from that extra glass of wine at dinner (which may have been what put you in the mood in the first place!).
5. It reduces pain. Studies show that vaginal stimulation results in increased pain tolerance, and pleasurable self-stimulation of the clitoris also has an analgesic effect. Researchers report that this type of stimulation can ease the pain of menstrual cramps, arthritis, migraine and other conditions.
6. It helps you live longer - if you do it often enough.
A Welsh longitudinal study examined the relationship between mortality and frequency of sexual activity. Researchers found that the risk of dying in any one year was 50 percent lower among men who had sex twice or more a week than among men who had sex less than once a month. Even when controlling for such factors as age, social class and smoking status, the study concluded that the more sex, the better.
7. It promotes a feeling of well-bein of well-being. Sexual activity fosters everything from sexual and reproductive health to happiness. And one U.S. study of more than 1,800 people found that surges in oxytocin and endorphins (which have an apparent sedative effect) occurred as a result of orgasm, explaining why sex often leads to falling asleep.
