Frampton's Guitar Circus. The Who clothing. Rod Stewart's "Time". Ozzy wants to collaborate with Adele. Death Wish coffee. Best time to get airline tickets for your summer holidays. What happens in one minute on the internet? Thousands of men have gotten their "junk" caught in their pants zipper.
PETER FRAMPTON
Peter Frampton announced the bulk of the dates for his summer tour, dubbed Frampton's Guitar Circus. As of now, the dates begin on June 5th in Grand Prairie, Texas and wind down on August 30th in Lincoln, California. In the press announcement for the trek, Frampton shed some light on the nuts and bolts of the tour, stating, "I want you to be the first to know that starting this I'll be releasing pre-sale tickets on my website every Wednesday for my upcoming tour -- Frampton's Guitar Circus! Every Tuesday morning you can check my Facebook page and I'll let you know which dates are going up for that week. The best part is -- I'll randomly select one fan from each show to win an autographed set list from the show they attend!"
He went on to say: "The tour will feature friends, celebrated guitarists, and other special guests (to be announced). Kicking off in May, I will perform several dates with five-time Grammy Award winner Robert Cray including Nashville, New York City, and Austin. In August, I will travel through Atlanta, Washington D.C., Los Angeles and more with praised slide blues guitarist Sonny Landreth opening the show, followed by the legendary B.B. King. Each night, the set will be recorded and subsequently sold in digital format."
Peter Frampton, who's never stopped writing, recording, and touring since his '70s heyday, admitted that he's constantly amazed with whom he's gotten to make music with over the years: "People like myself that have been doing it for this long, I think it's because we're such a fan of everybody else. You never forget the people that really influenced you at the beginning and throughout your career. So from Hank Marvin to Pearl Jam (laughs), y'know, I got to play with all these people. And it's such an honor to realize that they want to play with me. I've been exceedingly lucky. I appreciate the talent I was given. I've never phoned it in."
THE WHO
The Who have teamed up with the music-based clothing company Lyric Culture for an exclusive men's collection of apparel for Bloomingdale's, which will debut in stores on April 15th. The Who Collection features graphic screen print tees and hoodies sold in custom designed Lyric Culture "shops" at Bloomingdale's stores across the U.S. -- including such notable outlets as 59th Street, Aventura, Bergen County, Beverly Center, Fashion Valley, Lenox Square, North Michigan Avenue, Roosevelt Field, Santa Monica, San Francisco Centre, and Soho with a retail price range of $48 to $98.
The various designs feature iconic album imagery as well as lyrics to some of the band's greatest hits including "Won't Get Fooled Again," "Who Are You," "Baba O' Riley," "My Generation," "Pinball Wizard," "Behind Blue Eyes," "Long Live Rock," and many more.
ROD STEWART
Rod Stewart's new album, Time, will be released on May 7th. The set -- which was originally announced as Love The Life You Live -- features all the songs written or co-written and produced by Rod. The album's lead single, "She Makes Me Happy," has just been released to radio. A deluxe iTunes version of the album features three bonus tracks.
Rod spoke about how writing his recent memoir led to a return to songwriting: "Something about that process of reviewing my life for the book reconnected me and that was it: I was away. Suddenly ideas for lyrics were piling up in my head. Next thing I knew, I had a song called 'It's Over' about divorce and separation. And now I was getting up in the middle of the night and scrambling for a pen to write things down, which has never happened to me. I finished seven or eight songs very quickly and I still wasn't done and it became apparent that I would eventually have a whole album of material to record, which had never happened before."
OZZY OSBOURNE
Ozzy Osbourne told Australia's Rip It Up in a new interview that he would love to collaborate with British singing star Adele before he dies. Asked about the possibility of Black Sabbath producer Rick Rubin, who also produced Adele's last record, arranging some sort of session together, Ozzy replied, "I'd die a happy man, I think she's f***ing great. She's not f***ing botox-faced, she's a normal, healthy girl who speaks in her native accent."
STRONGEST COFFEE IN THE WORLD COSTS $20 PER POUND
Death Wish coffee may be the strongest coffee in the world. The company's website describes the coffee as a "breakthrough," adding, "Here at Death Wish Coffee we have found a coffee bean with close to 200% the amount of caffeine as your typical coffee shop coffee; we roast it to a medium-dark for a strong and robust flavor and then we grind it to the proper level for extreme potency. We roast to order and inspect before and after the roasting process to ensure correct moisture levels, bean density, and uniformity."
THE BEST TIMES TO GET AIRLINE TICKETS FOR SUMMER HOLIDAYS(Huffington Post):
Memorial Day: Jeremy Boore, a travel analyst with Expedia suggests buying this month or in April. Last year's average ticket prices for flights were around $400, driven primarily by the high demand for travel last minute (tickets sold more than 24 days in advance of departure were, on average, below $400). Meaning people who purchased their tickets in March and April tended to get a better deal than those who waited until the month of May.
Fourth of July: It's generally "more difficult" to find great deals on flights for this holiday, says Boore. The 2012 average ticket prices for summer's midpoint were around $422 per ticket. Even though purchasing airfare 21 to 28 days out is the norm, forget about it for this holiday and instead plan ahead 5 to 6 weeks out. Boore's tip? Start looking at ticket prices in early May.
Labor Day: This holiday generally has lower demand because people have already gone on their summer vacations by then, or so says Boore. As such, it's easier to find a deal during the holiday (which is September 2nd this year). Average ticket prices hovered around $371 in 2012. Again, aim to book five -to-six weeks out.
WHAT HAPPENS IN ONE MINUTE ON THE INTERNET?
A new study released by Intel finds that in just one internet-minute 204-million e-mails are sent, and 47-thousand apps are downloaded. In just one minute Amazon makes 83-thousand-dollars in sales, and 20-million photos are viewed. Additionally, the study finds that in 60 seconds, six-million Facebook pages are viewed, and the world watches 1.3-million YouTube videos. Intel says it's working on developing new networking equipment in order to deal with the expected rise in traffic on networks, as it's predicted that by the year 2015 there will be more networked devices than there are people in the world. THOUSANDS OF MEN HAVE GOTTEN THEIR PENIS' CAUGHT IN THEIR PANTS ZIPPER
No one likes their idea of a zipper too close to their junk, but a new article reveals thousands of men have fallen victim to the fierce zipper teeth. The article was published in the Journal of the British Assocation of Urological Surgeons, and states that nearly 18-thousand men went to the emergency room between 2002 and 2010 for "trouser zip injuries to the genitals." Experts suggest buying pants with button-flys to avoid the nasty injury, but if you do get caught in a zipper one doctor advises to generously apply mineral oil to the victim's genitalia and zipper, and after about a half-hour the skin should slip out of the zipper.
