HOBBY CENTER closes through April 2

The Hobby Center Foundation’s top priority is ensuring our audiences enjoy meaningful and safe experiences with the arts as well as protecting the health and well-being of our patrons, touring artists, volunteers, and employees. In response to the CDC directive limiting group gatherings of 50 or more people and the declaration of a Texas state of emergency, the Hobby Center will close both Sarofim Hall and Zilkha Hall from March 17 through April 2. We have determined that presenting these events would risk the safety and well-being of our employees and the people we serve. Closing our venue is the right action to protect public health.  We are currently working to reschedule all performances scheduled to take place at the Hobby Center and ask for patrons’ patience as this process may take some time. Ticketed events include BAPS Live, Fiddler on the Roof, Secrets and Illusions, Apollo Chamber Players and Origins Dance Competition. Patrons holding tickets for performances affected by this closure should retain their tickets, as their current tickets will be valid for the new dates and times. Ticketholders will be contacted using the email address in our system regarding the status of their performance as details are confirmed. The most up-to-date information will be available at thehobbycenter.org.
