Canadian born rocker Bryan Adams turns 61 today. Adams first hit the charts in 1983 with his album Cuts Like a Knife.

Raised by parents who worked in the diplomatic core, Adams spent time growing up in Portugal, Austria and Israel.

During the 80s and 90s, Adams released eight albums and had the number one song in the country in August of 1991. “(Everything I Do) I Do It For You, from the film Robinhood; Prince of Thieves, spent 16 weeks at Number 1 and set a Billboard record for the longest consecutive reign in the top spot.

One of his most recent projects was writing music for and producing a musical based on the movie Pretty Woman. It debuted on Broadway in 2018 and in London earlier this year.
