In the past, you would choose your wine to go with your food. For example, white wine typically goes with fish and red wine with steak. According to a new survey, 63% now look for the perfect wine to go with what they are watching instead of eating.

- Sitcom – 43% white wine
- Reality – 42% red wine
- Drama – 39% red wine
- News – 34% white wine
- Docu-series – 30% red wine
- Adult animation – 24% red wine and white wine
The survey shows that 90% said it was more important to find a wine that tastes good, even if it breaks the wine pairing “rules”. 7 out of 10 respondents have become more knowledgable about wine and 67% said their tastes have become more sophisticated. (Apparently, we’ve been drinking a lot during lockdown).
