On July 20th 2020, what would have been Chris Cornell of Soundgarden’s 56th birthday, his estate released his cover of Guns N’ Roses “Patience”.

Chris’s daughter had asked him to teach her the song.

The YouTube post of the video says “After helping his daughter Toni learn the song, Chris Cornell got inspired in March of 2016 to record the song himself after hearing the news that Guns N’ Roses were reuniting.”

The images and photos used in the video are pretty powerful.

The video credits say it was Produced by Toni Cornell and Christopher Cornell, his kids.

Ultimate Classic Rock quoted his widow Vicky as saying that Cornell’s birthday was the “perfect time to share this and celebrate” the musician: “It is true a man is not dead while his name is still spoken … and, through his art, an artist’s soul still burns just as bright as ever upon all those that look up to him and his memory. Releasing music that was special to Chris keeps a part of him here with us- his heart and his soul. His love and his legacy.”
