We all have days where we don’t feel like doing anything at all. Some of us have more lazy days than others. Is there one day where we all feel lazier than any other day? According to Zippia.com, the answer is yes! Zippia analyzed Google searches like “no motivation to work” and “no desire to work”. Without further adieu – The laziest day of the year is – April 13th!

I wrote this on April 13th. Why I am working? It’s a bit ironic that I wrote a story about the laziest day of the year ON the laziest day of the year!

Here’s a breakdown of the laziest days and months in 2020.

What is the laziest day and month of the year?

You’ll notice a trend. The top lazy days of 2020 are Mondays and most are after holidays.

Laziest days.

When you think about it, it’s no surprise that the laziest months are in the fall and winter.

Laziest months.

Here are a few more interesting findings from Zippia .com.

  • The least motivated day of 2020? The Monday after Easter. Everyone must be tired from family lunches and Easter eggs hunts.
  • All 10 of the least motivated days of the year are Mondays. I guess Garfield was right, Mondays DO suck.
  • Lack of motivation is highest on Mondays, dwindling down until Sunday, when it peaks back up again.
  • Surprising no one who has tried to work during winter holidays with so many colleagues off, the week of Christmas and the 1st week of the New Year are pretty hard to focus.
  • The months where workers struggle to focus the most are August and October. Guess instead of spring fever, it should be called fall fever.
  • Many workers dread Mondays to the extent they spend Sunday concerned about the workweek
  • Both the days after Mother’s Day and Father’s Day have workers wondering why they can’t focus at work. Want to focus harder to get a promotion to brag to your parents about? Or maybe workers are just spent from an exhausting day with family and lack the brainpower to tackle their to-do list.

So, if you are feeling particularly unmotivated on certain days, now you know why. Relax and enjoy the laziest days and months of the year!
