EL PASO, Texas – Texas’ El Paso Zoo recently welcomed six adorable new additions to its Mexican gray wolf pack.

According to KFOX and KVIA, the pups – two females and four males – were born at the attraction in April after their parents were transferred from the Phoenix Zoo.

“The pups are healthy and are venturing out of their den for the first time,” the El Paso Zoo said in a Facebook post Thursday. “In addition, the pups join their three older brothers.”

Zoo Director Joe Montisano said in a statement that the birth is an “exciting milestone” and added that the facility is “happy to contribute to the repopulation of this endangered species” in its new Chihuahuan Desert exhibit.

“This is an exciting day for the zoo and the wolf population,” the statement said.
