BEND, Ore. – Remember paying $3.99 to rent a movie from Blockbuster Video during the 1990s? For a penny more, you can sleep in the world’s last remaining Blockbuster store.

Airbnb is offering three sleepovers at the Blockbuster store in Bend, Oregon, The Oregonian reported. At 1 p.m. PDT on Aug. 17, residents of Deschutes County can apply to book a one-night stay from Sept. 18 through Sept. 20, the newspaper reported. Parties will be limited to a maximum of four, but they will have free rein over the store’s movie stock and will be treated to pizza, soft drinks and popcorn.

The cost is $4, store owner Sandi Harding told Variety.

The event was listed as “End of Summer Sleepover at the Last Blockbuster” on Airbnb’s website. The winners can enjoy their night in a replica of the 1990s-style living room, complete with a hideaway sofa, beanbag chair and a VHS player, the Oregonian reported.

Cassette labels will sport Blockbuster’s memorable request: Be kind. Please rewind.

“Hey Deschutes County residents! Dust off those membership cards for a sleepover inside the world’s last Blockbuster,” the Airbnb listing reads. “When you call dibs on this stay, you’re booking a night back in the 90s, but this time you won’t have to beg your parents to rent the latest horror flick — we’ll give you the keys to the entire store!”

Airbnb will make a donation to the Humane Society of Central Oregon, a charity the Blockbuster store in Bend has supported for many years, Variety reported.

The first Blockbuster opened Oct. 19, 1985, in Dallas. It grew into a retail giant, peaking in 2004 with 9,904 stores worldwide, Entertainment Weekly reported. In 2000, the company rejected a partnership with Reed Hastings, the CEO of Netflix. Both companies went in opposite directions, and Blockbuster declared bankruptcy in 2010.
