If you plan to head to Walt’s original park, Disneyland, you might want to start saving now. Ticket prices have increased again.
Disneyland announced it is adding a sixth level of single-day ticket prices for days like Christmas, New Year’s Day and some weekends, KTLA reported.
It will now cost park visitors up to $164 a day per person to visit the Happiest Place on Earth on the busiest days.
The increase is between 3% and 8%, The Los Angeles Times reported.
The price is the same whether guests visit Disneyland or Disney’s California Adventure park. Park hopper, or the ability to visit both parks in one day, is also increasing.
The new pricing tiers are in effect now.
Here is the breakdown according to KTLA:
- Tier 1: $104 (unchanged)
- Tier 2: $119 ($5 increase)
- Tier 3: $134 ($10 increase)
- Tier 4: $149 ($10 increase)
- Tier 5: $159 ($5 increase)
- Tier 6: $164 (New)
Parking has also increased with standard parking now costing $30 a day, versus the previous $25. And self-parking at hotels is now $40 instead of $25, KTLA reported.
The last price increase was in 2019 with a starting price of $104 for a single-day, single-park ticket and the highest cost for a one-day, one-park ticket being $154 a person.
The tiered admission pricing started in 2016 to help limit crowds on the parks’ busiest days, the Times reported.
Despite the increase, some rides and shows have not resumed since the coronavirus pandemic forced the theme parks’ closures, the newspaper reported.
Disney also introduced a new planning app recently called Disney Genie. It also has a paid option, Disney Genie Plus, that allows guests to pay $20 for quicker access to several popular rides, along with an á la carte menu of the most in-demand rides, for an additional price, the Times reported.
Disney Genie and Disney Genie Plus have been launched at Walt Disney World in Florida but have yet to start in Disneyland.
