A nationwide recall over potential salmonella contamination has been expanded.
The Food and Drug Administration has announced that onions in some HelloFresh and EveryPlate meal kits are now part of the recall.
HelloFresh said onions included in kits that were sent from July 7, 2021, through Sept. 8, 2021, should be thrown out.
The company said that if onions were received after Sept. 8, then they are not affected by the recall.

The numbers for either brand can be found on the bottom square of the box’s shipping label.
If you ate the onions already from either brand, the FDA said that if they were cooked to the recommended temperature of 165 degrees Fahrenheit/74 degrees Celcius, then the salmonella bacteria should have been killed.
